It's known issue in Joomla 3.0 that was fixed recently:
github.com/joomla/joomla-cms/commit/6bb449918e475c1e829cdd2493d6132cf74eac9d
It should be included in next Joomla release.

I seems to be a problem in Joomla 2.5 also. That's where I'm having the trouble.

Actually 2.5.x uses "old" download manager and it should work correctly here.
Which Joomla 2.5.x release do you use?
What is your PHP version?

Great, thanks a lot!

Re: "Your server doesn't seem to support remote update" 11 years, 1 month ago #14175

I have tried to do the remote install as well as the manual install and neither works. When I try to install the updaye manually it says:

Your server does not support remote connections. Please download Scientia Mobile DB-API Plugin manually, install as any other Joomla! plugin.

Where is the "Scientia Mobile DB-API Plugin"

I have gone to the Mobile Joomla site and used the current Mobile Joomla file. That doesn't work.

Please help.

Thank you

Mark Jackson

That didn't work either. The update still isn't installed. Any suggestions?

Is there a solution to this? I'm having the same problem. I was going to try a manual install, but I don't want to after seeing that manual installs appear to fail as well.
