can't install, still getting an error please enter a package di

I have tried to install using: http://www.phil-taylor.com/2008/09/23/joomla-15...om-directory-method/

However, I am still getting an error: please install a package directory.

I want to thank the one for the post to forum for this help:

This is what worked for me:

1. Go to: "Global Configuration"
2. Go to: "Server Settings"
3. My path was set to "/tmp"
I changed to: /home/username/public_html/tmp

I hope this helps others....
