The error was: "Cannot decode raw data"

I installed/upgraded to 0.99. Install looks fine, but when I activate the mobile joomla plugin, I receive the above message when I visit the site. Works fine on a desktop browser. If I turn off the plugin, I get no change at all to the layout on the iPhone.

I'm running:

Joomla 1.5.22
PHP Version: 5.2.13
Web Server: Apache/2.2.17

I searched MJ 0.9.9 and the message is not coming from it.
I googled the message and hits came up on Safari and GZIP.
Could you try
Components > Mobile Joomla > Settings > iphone tab
and set Gzip compression to (no)

Thanks for the reply, but I did that and there's no change. I just upgraded Mobile Joomla as well to the latest version, 0.9.11. 

Any other ideas?

randy270, what is url of your site? I'd like to look at response of the server during "Cannot decode raw data" issue.

I have the same problem. Works fine on one phone but I get cannot decode raw data on a iphone.

Any ideas why this doesn't work?

I don't know. Test the following things:
1. Disable MJ and try to open "desktop" site on iphone. iPhone should render the site (of course, it will be shrinked, blurred, etc., but you should see that it works).
2. Maybe there is some proxies between site and browser. E.g., sometimes site works well over Wi-Fi, but does incorrectly over 3G. So, is there difference between 3G and WiFi access to the site?
