remove reminder and register links from mobile login form

pulling my hair out.
I Have a mobile login loaded into an article.
I've removed the password and username reminder and register link from the mobile login template (modules/mod_mj_login/tmpl/default_iphone.php) and they're still showing up.  I've cleared my browser and joomla caches and can't get it to go away.

Also, I see params in the xml file but don't see them in the module's admin area...  just an fyi
