Hi,
On my mobile site technodope.com, main menu is shown only on "Home" page. If I click on any article the main menu goes away and only breadcrumbs are shown. Can't I show the main menu always. Please let me know how to show the main menu on all pages of my mobile site.

Thanks,
Anand.

Hi,
Joomla backend admin
Extensions > Module Manager
find the module that controls the menu on the mobile by putting
menu
in the filter and click go
Look for the 4 modules that are in positions in mobile template.
edit the module
One of the parameters is menu assignment
if it is not set to all then set it.
If is is set to all then
click none to turn them all off and then click all to turn them all on
then save.
You will need to do this for all templates.
OR you may have one menu published to mj_all_xxxx in which case just edit that one.
Hope that helps.

Hi Barnabas,
I did as you said but it didn't work. The four Mobile Menus were set to All but then I set it to None and then set it back to All. But it didn't work. Do I need to do something else. Please do let me know.

Thanks,
Anand.

Hi Anand,
Could you try clearing cache for the browsers?
I tried the iphone view technodope.com/?device=iphone
and tried a few items such as contact us and how to
they seemed to work OK. I was using firefox as a browser.
Hope that helps.

Hi Barnabas,
The menu stays only when you click on the menu items. If you click on "Readmore" on an article. The main menu disappears. I want it to stays for all pages. It does not appear on individual article pages. Please let me know if you are able to see it.

I have one more issue. The main menu structure I see for smartphone and iphone on my PC browser (Firefox) is different from what I see on my Samsung Galaxy S2. The menu appears in neat vertical layout on the browser but on my phone it appears horizontal. I changed the menu settings to horizontal after that but the layout is different from the PC browser. The PC version looks more neat and tidy.

Thanks,
Anand.

Most likely Itemid of Readmore link corresponds to menuitem that has no children items. MJ's Mobile Menu module has "Type" parameter that affect the way to display menu in such a a case:
  • Submenu only - displays child items only (in this case menu will be hidden)
  • Current level with submenu - current-level menuitems with subitems of active menu (in this case last-level menuitems will be shown)

Same issue for me, i have put a site together and managed to get a mobile specific menu in place. The menu shows up on the Home page but when I select a menu item it loses the full meu leaving the user to navigate back to the home page using the button on the top right of the iPhone page or at the bottom of other types.

I am not using any readmore instances in any of the pages.

Other than that I am very impressed with what can be done with MJ, 'mobile' is a whole new language for me..
