Redirect back to restricted page after login

Hi-

I've tried a number of solutions, but nothing works. Our mobile page is access via an QR Reader application that sends visitor to restricted (registered) page. We want the user to be prompted to login or register and then redirected back to restricted page.

Does your template overright Joomla's redirect rules? Any suggestions would be welcome

MobileJoomla doesn't affect Joomla's login procedure.

What Joomla version do you use?
And what is url of that page (hope it's not a secret)?

we are using 1.5. The site is vidons.com and the registered page is vidons.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=5:beta-washer-vidon&catid=1:electronics-a-computerselectronics&Itemid=14

It's a bug in mobile_iphone template. The patch is here: github.com/mobilejoomla/mobilejoomla/commit/76f6a6777dd4fff7385dd45d0afdf00b978443ee

Well though you had it but still not working. redirect happens correctly on web, but redirects home page with joomla mobile. Any other suggestions?

Also let you know I tried this too $this->$return; but it broke the login page

You have missed " />" in the html source code. Check this line of template's code again.

Your right I dropped the "/>" however, putting it back in does not help. I've tried both $this->$return and $this->return and no success.

Any other suggestions.

Strange behaviour. On iphone template redirect field is empty, and on pda template it correspond to redirect to /favicon.ico (!!!).
What 3rd-party extensions do you use (that may affect log in)?
Could you send me ftp credentials to debug this redirect?

On the web side, everything works great. On the mobile page, I get a page that says "Registration Area" Welcome to the registered user ...." If I use a login redirect, it only takes me to the home page.
