do i need a special version or template te get {mobile} to work {/mobile}

there is no 'Mobile Content' plugin. The installation went flawless.

I guess you installed Mobile Joomla! extensions, but not the Mobile Content plugin (www.mobilejoomla.com/extension/advanced/mobile-content.html).
