is there a switch that corrects it or do I have to manually correct the fixes in mobile joomla css?

Most likely it's related to the page enhancing by mobile template. Try to open template's settings, open Advanced section in the accordion, enable "Enable Enhancing Management" and set what Joomla's components to don't enhance.
